Diver level two – Autonomous Diver

The requirements for an Autonomous Diver are legally determinded in ISO 24801-2:2007 and EN 14153-2:2003.

Training for level two must include at least four open-water dives.

A level-two diver is qualified to dive: To a maximum depth of 20 meters, on dives that don’t require in-water decompression stops and where there is appropriate support at the surface. With other divers of the same level without the direct supervision of an instructor.

The following dive courses are certified:

  • American Nitrox Divers International (ANDI) – Open Sport Diver
  • British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) – Ocean Diver
  • Confederation Mondiale des Activites Subaquatiques (CMAS) – 1 Stern (auch CMAS*)
  • Disabled Divers International (DDI) – Autonomous Diver
  • Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) – Recreational Diver Level 1
  • International Association for Handicapped Divers (IAHD) – Open Water Diver
  • International Scuba Diving Academy (ISDA) – Open Water Diver
  • National Diving League (NDL) – Diver
  • National Association of Underwater Instructor (NAUI) – Scuba Diver
  • Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) – Open Water Diver
  • Scuba Schools International (SSI) – Open Water Diver
  • Verband Deutscher Tauchlehrer (VDTL) – Bronze
  • World Organisation of Scuba Diving (WOSD) – Autonomous Diver
