The Tank strap belongs to the so-called strapping of compressed air cylinders. With it, the cylinder can be kept in position during the dive. These are mostly made of tension belts or stable clamps.
Before you put on the compressed air cylinder, you should humidify the strap for your own safety. A dry strap can still expand under water and as such the equipment can possibly be loosened. Although as a rule the compressed air cylinder is still secured by a security strap, you should still not take a chance.
